The Senate Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Committee, chaired by Nyeri County Senator Wahome , MP, held a meeting today to consider the stakeholders submissions on the legislative proposal on the Sugar Bill, 2022, (National Assembly Bill No. 34) with keen deliberation of all proposed ammendments as received.

 

𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐏𝐓 𝐋𝐀𝐖𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐒𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐒, 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐋 𝐆𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐒

The Senate Committee on Information, Communication and Technology has urged Governors to adopt county laws and regulations that govern own-source revenue collection and management.  

 

This comes after the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) informed the Senators that most counties don’t have the requisite legal and regulatory policy framework that administer their revenue collection and management.

This morning, the two Speakers of the Houses of Parliament, the Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula (National Assembly), the Rt. Hon. Amason Kingi (Senate) witnessed as His Excellency the President, Dr. William Ruto, CGH assented to the Affordable Housing Bill (National Assembly) Bill 75 of 2023.

This morning, the Senate Committee on County Public Investments and Special Funds convened with Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu. Under the leadership of Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, the Committee meticulously examined the Auditor-General's reports on three county funds: the Laikipia County Bursary Fund, the Laikipia County Emergency Fund, and the Laikipia County Assets Leasing Fund, covering the fiscal period of 2020-2022.
