A storm is brewing around the Buxton housing redevelopment project in Mombasa County, as residents raise red flags over stalled progress, broken promises, and a lack of transparency from county authorities.

The Senate Committee on Roads and Housing held a consultative public hearing with the former residents of Buxton Estate at Kenya School of Government in Mombasa.

The National Assembly is set to reconvene tomorrow, Tuesday 27th May 2025 from a four week working recess where Members of Parliament led country wide public participation on a Constitution Amendment Bill seeking to entrench three funds; National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), Senate Oversight Fund and National Government Affirmative Action Fund.

Top on the lawmakers' agenda is the proposed Ksh 4.34 trillion budget for the 2025/2026 fiscal year. This budget reflects a 9.9% increase from the previous fiscal year's KSh 3.95 trillion allocation.
