The Conflict of Interest Bill, 2023, has been signed into law by President William Ruto.

The Act consolidates various laws relating to conflict of interest and repeals the Public Officer Ethics Act (Cap. 185B), establishing a comprehensive framework for managing conflict of interest in the discharge of public duties.

The National Assembly Departmental Committee on Education has stepped in to assist final-year Bachelor of Pharmacy students from the University of Nairobi to secure internship placements who missed the 2025/2026 internship cohort due to delayed release of their final examination results.

The Committee, led by Hon. Eve Obara , met with affected students in Parliament following a formal petition presented to the House, in which the students decried the delayed release of their final-year results, terming it a violation of their fundamental rights.

Hon. Dr. Adan Keynan (Eldas) has urged the government to prioritise the expansion of banking and financial services in Northern Kenya to promote inclusive economic development and uplift pastoralist communities.

Speaking during a plenary sitting of the National Assembly, Hon. Keynan called for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning on strategies being implemented to address the shortage of financial institutions in the region.

The National Assembly is debating the mediated version of the Gambling Control Bill, (National Assembly Bill No. 70 of 2023).

The House during the afternoon session on Wednesday 30th July, 2025 debated the Bill that seeks to provide for the regulation of betting, casinos and other forms of gambling; authorization of prize competitions and public lotteries; for the establishment of the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya and for connected purposes.

Hon. Kipchumba Harold Kimuge has taken his oath as a nominated Member of the National Assembly following his gazettement by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

In a special Gazette Notice dated July 22, IEBC Chairperson Erustus Ethekon announced the reallocation of ten special seats arising from resignations, the passing of previously nominated members, and adjustments to address inconsistencies in party list nominations submitted during the 2022 General Election.

Kenya’s Parliament Football Club (Bunge FC) led by team Captain Hon. (Dr.) Otiende Amolo today undertook a courtesy visit to the National Football Team (Harambee Stars) in training. The delegation of MPs offered words of encouragement, support, and praise to the Stars ahead of the weekend kick-off of CHAN.

“We have come here first as Members of Bunge football club, and second as MPs
to encourage the stars and their technical team.” said Hon. (Dr.) Amolo.
