To be a supreme, effective, efficient and self-sustaining Parliament as a major participant in the process of good governance
To facilitate the Members of Parliament to efficiently and effectively fulfill their
constitutional mandate in a representative system
of Government by upholding and
ensuring the autonomy of Parliament in its corporate relationship with other arms
of Government.
Senate commences its special sittings under Speaker Ekwe Ethuro as requested by Majority Leader Kithure Kindiki to discuss bills passed by the National Assembly last week among others.
Standing Order No. 2 provide for a Member designated by a parliamentary party as its party whip for the purposes of the transaction of business in the National Assembly. In parliamentary traditions and practices, Majority and Minority whips perform the following roles:-
Ensuring that Members of the National Assembly of their respective parties attend to House business particularly when there is contentious business to be transacted with a view to ensuring that each party’s policy stance/agenda is passed;

The Hon. Junet Mohamed, CBS, MP was elected as the Minority Party Whip in the 13th Parliament in September 2022. He is the Member of Parliament for Suna East Constituency and a ranking Member of Parliament currently serving his third consecutive term.
Political Career and Key Achievements
In 2005, the Hon. Junet Mohamed began his political career when he was nominated as a Councillor and served as Mayor of Migori County Council.
