The Hon. Gladys Boss Shollei, CBS is the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly having been elected to the position on 8th September 2022. She was first elected to the National Assembly in 2017 as the Woman Representative for Uasin Gishu County and was re-elected in August 2022.
Article 95 of the Constitution establishes that the National Assembly shall consist of the following:-
The Rt. Hon. (DR.) Moses M. Wetang'ula, EGH, MP is the 8th Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya since independence in 1963. He was elected to the position of Speaker on Thursday, 8th September 2022 during the First Sitting of the National Assembly of the 13th Parliament.
The Speaker of the Sente, Rt Hon Kenneth Lusaka, Wednesday, 6th June 2018 attended the State Opening of the Third Session of the Tenth Parliament of the Republic of Uganda and the State of the Nation Address by HE Gen Yoweri Museveni.
At the end of the address Speaker Lusaka noted that "the State of the Nation is strong and the forecast is optimistic."
HE Museveni's Address highlighted the Government's achievements and its future plans.
The President announced that his Government would revive Uganda Airlines.
A Parliamentary Delegation from Australia led by Hon. Andrew Broad, MP, accompanied by fellow legislators Hon. Luke Hartsuyker, MP; Hon. Tim Watts, MP and Hon. Graham Perrett, MP paid a visit to the National Assembly Speaker. The delegation was also accompanied by the Australian High Commissioner to Kenya H.E. Madam Alison Chartres.
