The Senate Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources led by Vice Chair Sen. (Dr.) Lelegwe Ltumbesi, held a meeting today to deliberate on Budget Policy Statement (BPS) for the Financial Year 2024/2025.

The Second Schedule of the Senate Standing Orders mandates the Committee on Lands, to consider all matters relating to lands and settlement, environment, forestry, wildlife, mining, water resources management and development. 

𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐎𝐍 𝐁𝐏𝐒, 𝐌𝐓𝐃𝐌𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐓𝐑𝐒

The Senate Standing Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations held a meeting this Thursday where members deliberated on the 2024 Budget Policy Statement (BPS), Medium Term Debt Management Strategy (MTDMS) and the Medium Term Revenue Strategy (MTRS).

 

During the meeting, committee members were taken through the Budget Policy Statement, Medium Term Debt Management Strategy and the Medium Term Revenue Strategy by the Parliamentary Budget Office.

 

𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐂𝐨𝐆 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞

The Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Budget chaired by Mandera County Senator Ali Roba today held a meeting with stakeholders to deliberate on the Budget Policy Statement, Medium Term Debt Management Strategy (MTDMS) and Medium Term Revenue Strategy (MTRS).

 

The committee received submissions from the Commission on Revenue Allocation led by the Commission Chair Mrs. Mary Chebukati and the Council of Governors led by the Council Chair and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.

𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰

The Public Investments Committee on Governance and Education, led by Hon. Jack Wamboka, has initiated investigations into the financial discrepancies at the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBA) and the Business Registration Services (BRS), following queries in the Auditor General's report for the Financial Years 2018/2019 and 2019/2020.

At KECOBA, audit queries have been asked with regards to a deficit of Kshs.22,034,340, which resulted in the depletion of accumulated reserves.
