The National Assembly has approved regulations to establish the National Peace Support Operations Fund, which will provide support for Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) peacekeeping missions and operations.
This is a result of the House adopting a Report of the Committee on Delegated Legislation, which considered the Public Finance Management (National Peace Support Operations Fund) Regulations, 2023. The purpose of these regulations is to create the National Peace Support Operations Fund, into which the Government is expected to contribute Ksh1 billion.
The Senate Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, led by Kirinyaga Senator James Kamau Murango MP, joined the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Honorable Rigathi Gachagua who chaired the two-day Tea Reforms Conference at the Kericho Golf Club, Kericho County.

Today, the Senate Committee on County Public Accounts (CPAC) convened to question Governor Dhadho Godhana concerning the Auditor General's report on the Financial Statements for the Financial Year 2019/2020.
During the meeting, the Committee made several resolutions. First, concerns were raised about the delayed submission of documents by the Office of the Auditor-General during the audit period. It was found that 67% of the total expenditure queried by the Auditor General lacked adequate documentation.
The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) has asked a committee of the Senate to push for the amendment of the Section 226 of the Penal Code of laws of Kenya that slap criminal liability on individuals who try suicide.
The Commission argues that individuals who attempt to kill themselves have mental illness and they deserve to be taken for medical care instead of being arrested and charged in court of law.
Led by Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, the Senate Committee on County Public Investments and Special funds convened today to deliberate over concerns raised by the auditor general regarding three water companies in Nakuru County: Naivasha Water and Sanitation Company Limited (NAIVASCO), Nakuru Water and Sanitation Company Limited (NAWASCO) and Nakuru Rural Water and Sanitation Limited Company (NARUWASCO). The focus was on the financial operations of these entities for the fiscal year 2020/2021.
