Sen. Cheruiyot Aaron Kipkirui

Aaron Kipkirui Cheruiyot (MGH is the Senator for Kericho and Majority Leader in the Senate .

He holds Bachelor of Arts in Language and Literary Studies from Moi University. He is currently pursuing Master in Business Administration (MBA ) at Kenyatta University. 

Senator Cheruiyot was one of the youngest Senator to be elected into Kenyan Parliament at 29 years in 2016. 

He served in crucial Senate Committees that include Finance and Budget , Energy and Standing Committee on Devolution Intergovernmental Relations , Committee on ICT among others .

He was instrumental in successfully enacting important Legislations including the Tea Bill. 

He has also sponsored other Bills which include Sports (Amendment ) Bill , 2021 , Persons with Disability (Amendment) Bill , 2020 and County Government (Amendment ) Bill , 2018.  

Senator Cheruiyot ably served as the Commissioner in the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC). At PSC he served with distinction as the Chair staff welfare , Member of Member’s Welfare and Member Security and Development committees.

Senator Cheruiyot is a Captain Bunge FC where he skippered the team to winning various titles in the regional tourneys . 

As a ranking member Senator Cheruiyot is an erudite debater known for his impassioned , wit and clever quips who never failed to catch the eye of the Speaker . 

Senator Cheruiyot  holds the record as the youngest Majority in the Senate while serving his third term as the Senator for Kericho County.
