The Senate, through the Standing Committee on Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights, has commenced public participation on the Referendum Bill, 2026.

The Bill proposes a legal framework to guide the conduct of referenda in Kenya. Members of the public are invited to submit memoranda and participate in the public hearings before the Committee submits its report to the Senate.

Written memoranda may be submitted to the Clerk of the Senate, P.O. Box 41842-00100, Nairobi; hand-delivered to the Office of the Clerk of the Senate, Main Parliament Buildings, Nairobi; or emailed to clerk.senate@parliament.go.ke and copied to senatejlahrc@parliament.go.ke on or before Friday, 29th May, 2026 at 5.00 p.m.
