The Public Debt and Privatization Committee led by Chairperson, Hon. Abdi Shurie (Balambala) questioned the Principal Secretary for National Treasury, Dr. Chris Kiptoo over the privatization programme for financial years 2023/24 and 2024/25.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) called upon the National Assembly to issue an international tender, inviting reputable global audit firms to bid for the provision of external audit services to the Office of the Auditor-General. This move follows the reluctance of local audit firms to bid, citing potential conflicts of interest.

The Departmental Committee on Energy has been assured that plans are underway to revive the National Oil Corporation (NOC) by restructuring and commercializing its operations and that the Corporation will not be privatized.

CLERK RECEIVES PETITION FROM MOTORCYCLE E-HAILING SERVICE PROVIDERS SEEKING ENACTMENT OF LAW TO REGULATE SECTOR

The Clerk of the National Assembly has received a petition from the Digital Boda Drivers and Deliveries Association of Kenya seeking the enactment of legislation to regulate the sector and to protect them from exploitative tendencies. 

Speaking when they met Mr. Samuel Njoroge in his Office, Association Members led by their Chairman, Mr. Calvince Okumu pointed out that their petition is intended to address key challenges faced by their Members.
