Senator Tabitha Mutinda has achieved a remarkable milestone following her election to the Board of Governance of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Β

In an official communication to the Senate on Wednesday afternoon, Speaker Amason Jeffah Kingi congratulated Senator Mutinda on her appointment and called upon her colleagues to offer her their full support as she embarks on this new international leadership role.

Β

The Board of Governance is entrusted with setting the strategic direction and providing oversight for the activities of the Parliamentary Network. Sen. Mutinda will represent the East Africa Region on the Board for the 2025–2027 term. The Parliamentary Network is an independent, non-governmental organisation that offers legislators from around the world a platform to engage with the World Bank Group and the IMF on matters of transparency, accountability and development effectiveness.

Β

Among its key responsibilities, the Network facilitates dialogue between parliamentarians, civil society and international financial institutions. It focuses on promoting sound governance in the management of public resources, advancing poverty reduction strategies and supporting policies that stimulate inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Β

Sen. Mutinda will formally assume her role on 13th October 2025, during the Parliamentary engagements at the 2025 Annual Meetings of the World Bank and IMF. Her colleagues in the Senate, including Majority Leader Sen. Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), Sen. Enoch Wambua (Kitui), Sen. Agnes Kavindu (Machakos) and Sen. Joe Nyutu (Murang’a) extended their congratulations, expressing great confidence in her abilities.

Β

They commended her impressive record of service to the people of Kenya and encouraged her to continue exemplifying excellence on the global stage. The Lawmakers pledged their unwavering support to ensure that Sen. Mutinda successfully fulfils her new responsibilities with distinction.
