In an exciting second match of the ongoing East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Games, the Kenyan MPs Men's Basketball team triumphed over their Tanzanian counterparts with an impressive 67-38 victory on Wednesday.

The game, held at the Makupa Sports Club in Mombasa, showcased the Kenyan team’s skill, determination, and dominance on the court.

Kenya’s top scorer, Hon. Senator David Wakoli from Bungoma County, led the team with an outstanding 20 points, while Tanzania’s Hon. Benit contributed 17 points for his side.

Kenyan Members of Parliament stole the spotlight during the East African Community Interparliamentary Games (EAC-IPG) held at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa.

Day four of the tournament saw a series of exciting contests in the darts category, with Kenyan lawmakers exhibiting their prowess against their regional counterparts.

Leading the charge was Westlands MP, Timothy Wanyonyi Wetang’ula who captained the men's team with vigour and determination.

In an electrifying encounter at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa County, the Kenya Women MPs volleyball team secured an emphatic victory over their Rwandan counterparts, sweeping the match in straight sets.

Kenya set the tone with a dominant performance in the first set, clinching it 25–15. The second set proved more competitive, but the Kenyan team showcased resilience and tactical brilliance to win 25–21. In the final set, Kenya sealed their victory with a decisive 25–18 finish, much to the delight of their jubilant supporters.

The Kenya Bunge basketball team has earned a headstart at the ongoing East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Games in Mombasa, thanks to a walkover victory in their opening match on Tuesday.

The team was awarded a 3-point win after South Sudan failed to show up for the scheduled match, giving the Kenyan side a confident boost ahead of their next challenge.

Under the leadership of Konoin MP, Brighton Yegon, the team is preparing for their second game on Wednesday at 4 PM, where they will face off against Uganda.

Senator David Wakoli (Bungoma) has sought a Statement from the Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare regarding the status of the Equity Bank (K) Limited Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP) scheme.

 

In the Statement, the Committee should provide a list of the trustees currently managing the Equity Bank Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP) scheme, explaining how they were appointed; Committee should also provide an annual breakdown of the number of employees who have joined as well as those who have opted out of the ESOP scheme from 2005 to date.
