Eighteen lawmakers' have been appointed to represent the National Assembly in two Mediation
Committees which have been tasked developing agreed upon versions of the National Disaster Risk Management Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 24 of 2023) and the Startup Bill (Senate Bill No. 14 of 2022).

Making the announcement in the House on 19th August 2025, Speaker of the National
Assembly Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula reminded Members that the Bills had been referred
to mediation following amendments made by the two Houses.

Dr Eric Mutai has once again survived attempts to remove him from office as Kericho Governor after the Senate rejected the impeachment proceedings at the County Assembly on account that the two thirds majority was not achieved.

The Senate proceedings into the impeachment of Kericho Governor Dr. Erick Mutai took an unexpected turn when a Member of the County Assembly (MCA), Hillary Kibet, alleged that he had been offered money and foreign trips in exchange for supporting the Motion to remove the Governor from office.
