The Selection Panel responsible for the recruitment of nominees for the positions of Chairperson and Members of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) received a total of 1,848 applications for the positions by close of the application process on Saturday, 15th February, 2025, 5pm.

In a press statement issued by the Panel’s Chairperson, Dr. Nelson Makanda, the Panel has commenced the process of verification and will be issuing the long list comprising of all the applicants.

“By the 5pm deadline, we had received a total of 1,848 applications constating of applications hand delivered to the secretariat at 3rd floor, County House Building, Parliament Road and applications submitted online as PDF file format attachments that were mailed to iebcselectionpanel2025@parliament.go.ke,” Dr. Makanda said.    

Dr. Makanda, in the statement, also reassured Kenyans of the Panel’s commitment to a free and fair process.                             

“We would like to reassure the public that, the Selection Panel is committed to conducting a fair and transparent process. In this regard, we shall keep the public informed at all stages of the recruitment exercise,” he said.
