A Quick Response (QR) Code designed by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) Board has been tabled in the House.

Tabling the Code, Chairperson of the Committee on NG-CDF, Hon. Musa Sirma (Eldama Ravine) noted that the initiative is aimed at strengthening accountability, reducing information gaps, and enabling citizens to monitor projects in their constituencies in real time.

According to the Board’s Ag, CEO Mr. Benjamin Magut, the QR code is more than a piece of technology.

Speaking after Hon. Sirma’s contribution in the House, Mr. Magut stated that with this new initiative, every Kenyan in each of the 290 constituencies can now access NG-CDF services and track projects with speed, transparency, and dignity.

"In embracing this QR code system, the NG-CDF Board is not just digitizing a process; we are opening a door. A door through which accountability walks in, and bureaucracy walks out,” Mr Magut remarked.

Notably, this development comes just after the NG-CDF Committee tabled Schedule of Budget Ceilings for the two hundred and ninety constituencies for the Financial Year 2026/2027 for consideration by the House.

While issuing his statement on the Floor of the House, Hon. Sirma disclosed that the Fund has been allocated a total Kshs. 61,797,700,00 for the FY representing an increase of 5.1 per cent from the previous allocation of Kshs. 58,797,000,000.

He further outlined that an amount equivalent to five per cent, being Kshs. 3,089,885,000, has also been set aside for the administration and operational expenses of the NG-CDF Board. Consequently, the total amount available for allocation among the 290 constituencies is Kshs. 58,707,815,000.

β€œAccordingly, the equal allocation component amounts to Kshs. 44,030,861,250, translating to an equal amount of Kshs. 151,830,556 for each constituency. The ward-based allocation component amounts to Kshs. 14,676,953,750, which has been distributed according to the number of wards in each constituency,” Hon. Sirma indicated .

Hon. Sirma also encouraged MPs to ensure timely submission of their project proposals for the Financial Year 2026/2027, in compliance with the set deadline of 31st July, 2026.
