President William Ruto has paid glowing tribute to Parliament for what he described as its immense contribution to Kenya’s progress over the past three years, affirming that the country’s achievements are the result of collective effort across all arms of government and the citizenry. Addressing the bicameral Parliament and by extension the entire nation, the President delivered a wide-ranging State of the Nation address that reviewed his administration’s record, acknowledged challenges and setbacks and set out a bold roadmap for future development.

 

𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐋𝐀𝐖 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐀𝐗 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐓𝐄

The Provisional Collection of Taxes and Duties (Repeal) Bill, 2025 (National Assembly Bills No. 18 of 2025) has been assented to.

The Act, sponsored by the Leader of Majority Party, Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, repeals the Provisional Collection of Taxes and Duties Act, Cap. 415, a law that had been in operation since 1959. The Bill was passed by the National Assembly on 18th November 2025 without amendments.

The Government Owned Enterprises Bill, 2025 (National Assembly Bill No. 40 of 2025) has been signed into law by President William Ruto.

The Bill now Act sponsored by the Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, Leader of the Majority Party was published on 16th July, 2025, and was passed on 18th November, 2025, with amendments.
