The Special Funds Accounts Committee has asked the management of the Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF), commonly known as the Hustler Fund, to submit a comprehensive list of loan defaulters, detailing their names, amounts owed and contact information per constituency.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will face the full House of the Senate as he fights attempts to remove him from office through impeachment.

Speaker Amason Kingi ruled Wednesday that the trial for the removal of the Deputy President will be conducted by the plenary after a motion to establish an 11-member special was withdrawn for lack of a seconder.

Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot had the moved the motion but the deputy Majority Whip Edwin Sifuna refused to second the motion when called upon, forcing the Speaker to withdraw the motion.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Water Sector Trust Fund (WSTF), Mr. Willis Ombai, has informed the Senate Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources that the WaterFund has signed projects valued at Ksh. 13.3 billion with various water service providers. The Speaker made the ruling after an attempt by Minority Whip Edwin Sifuna to move the motion that should have seen the formation of an 11-member Special Committee fell through for lack of a seconder.

Standing Committee on Energy held a meeting to to consider the alleged irregularities in the

The Senate, through the Senate Liaison Office, in partnership with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), recently concluded a series of follow-up visits to ten County Assemblies including; Kisumu, Nyamira, Kisii, Vihiga, Kakamega, Migori, Homa Bay, Bungoma, Busia and Siaya between the 23rd and 27th of September, 2024.

The Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare has intensified its investigation into the alleged job scam involving First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency, ordering the arrest of its Director, Judy Chepchirchir.

The proposal for her arrest, made by Sen Alexander Mundigi (Embu), was seconded by Sen Mohammed Faki (Mombasa), who also recommended that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) initiate criminal proceedings against Chepchirchir for defying the Committee’s summons.

The Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare has today imposed a fine of Kshs 500,000 on Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Hassan for ignoring summons to appear to address allegations of recruitment irregularities within his county government.
