The Committee on Appointments is set to conduct approval hearings for three nominees proposed by the President for Cabinet Secretary Positions on January 14, 2025, at County Hall, Parliament Buildings.

The National Assembly will convene for special sittings on Thursday, January 16th, 2025.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Moses Wetang'ula authorized the special sitting upon a request from the Leader of the Majority Party, Hon. Kimani Inchung'wa.

The special sittings will be held in two sessions; a morning session starting at 10.00 am and an afternoon session commencing at 2.30 pm.

The nominees include Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, a former Health Cabinet Secretary under retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, who has been nominated to head the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.

Kenya Saturday afternoon edged out Burundi in Men Basketball Match at KPA Makupa Sports ground with a victory of 64-37.

The National Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dr. Moses Wetang'ula, Parliamentary Service Commissioner, Hon. Rachael Ameso and the Clerk of Senate, Mr. Jeremiah Nyegenye witnessed team Kenya assert their dominance of the game.

Senator David Wakoli turned out as the Most Valuable Player garnering 18 points.

In an exciting and competitive match at the indoor courts of the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, the Kenyan Women MPs’ netball team has delivered a dominant performance, securing a 40-11 victory over Burundi.

The match which marks the penultimate stage of the ongoing East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games, highlighted Kenya’s mastery in both skill and coordination in the netball game.

The Kenyan male legislators have surged ahead in the ongoing East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games Golf Tournament. With one round remaining, Kenya holds a commanding lead with an aggregate score of 274 points.

Out of this, 131 points were garnered in round 1 on Tuesday, while round 2 played today saw the Kenyan team garner 143.  Uganda Parliament follows closely with 238 points, while Tanzania is in third place with 111 points.

On the women's side, Uganda has taken the early lead with 252 points, while Tanzania is in second place with 94 points.

Kenya’s Parliament men’s volleyball team secured a well deserved victory on Thursday, after hammering the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) team 3-1 in a tense showdown during the 14th Edition of the EAC Interparliamentary Games in Mombasa County.

The moving match, hosted at the prestigious Aga Khan Academy drew an enthusiastic crowd including EALA Speaker Rt. Hon. Joseph Ntakirutimana. The Kenyan squad cheered on by passionate fans who packed the gym, displayed remarkable game proving why they are a force to reckon with.

Parliament of Kenya Netball Team captained by Vihiga County MP, Hon. Beatrice Adagala, has thrashed East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) team 46 - 31 in the ongoing 14th Edition of East Africa Community Inter-Parliamentary Games (EAC-IPG).

In a match held at Aga Khan Academy grounds in Mombasa on Thursday 12th December, 2024 at 10:00am, the women legislators battled it out at the court.

Team Kenya took an early lead with their EALA counterparts putting up a spirited fight to catch up.

In an electrifying encounter at the Aga Khan Academy, Kenya's men's volleyball team secured a hard-fought victory against Burundi in a five-set marathon that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

The hosts, coming off a mixed run with a win against Uganda and a setback against Tanzania, demonstrated remarkable resilience in this crucial fixture.

The match, which began at 2030Hrs saw Kenya claim the first set 25-21, before Burundi stormed back to dominate the next two sets 25-11 and 25-14.

In an exciting second match of the ongoing East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Games, the Kenyan MPs Men's Basketball team triumphed over their Tanzanian counterparts with an impressive 67-38 victory on Wednesday.

The game, held at the Makupa Sports Club in Mombasa, showcased the Kenyan team’s skill, determination, and dominance on the court.

Kenya’s top scorer, Hon. Senator David Wakoli from Bungoma County, led the team with an outstanding 20 points, while Tanzania’s Hon. Benit contributed 17 points for his side.

The Kenya Bunge basketball team has earned a headstart at the ongoing East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Games in Mombasa, thanks to a walkover victory in their opening match on Tuesday.

The team was awarded a 3-point win after South Sudan failed to show up for the scheduled match, giving the Kenyan side a confident boost ahead of their next challenge.

Under the leadership of Konoin MP, Brighton Yegon, the team is preparing for their second game on Wednesday at 4 PM, where they will face off against Uganda.
