The Speaker of the National Assembly, the Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mosesย  Wetangโ€™ula, with his Senate counterpart the Rt. Hon. (Sen.) Amason Kingi yesterday witnessed His Excellencyย  President Dr. William Ruto assent to the Finance Bill (2023) and the Appropriations Bill (2023). The President also approved the Supplementary Appropriations (No.2) Bill, 2023.

The Finance Bill aims to raise part of the Kshs. 3.6 trillion budget. The Bill was brought before the Houseย  by Hon. Kimani Kuria (Molo), the Chairperson of the Finance and Planning Committee. Hon. Kuria received accolades on the Floor of the House after the passage of the Bill from the Rt. Hon. Speaker for doing a commendable job.

In attendance included; the Deputy President, H.E Rigathi Gachagua, the Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, Treasury Cabinet Secretary Prof. Njuguna Ndung'u, the Attorney General, Hon. Justin Muturi, National Assembly Leader of Majority Hon. Kimani Ichungwa, Senate Leader of Majority Sen. Aaron Cheruiyot, National Assembly Minority Whip, Hon. Naomi Waqo, theย  Chairperson Finance and Planning Committee Hon. Kimani Kuria, Clerk of the Senate/Secretary to PSC, Mr. Jeremiah Nyegenye and the Clerk of the National Assembly Mr. Samuel Njoroge.
