The National Assembly has passed the Kenya Roads (Amendment) Bill, 2025. The Bill seeks to amend the Kenya Roads Act to classify public roads into two categories national trunk roads and county roads in line with the devolved system of governance.

The Bill also makes amendments to the Kenya Roads Board Act to ensure equitable allocation of funds to both national and county governments for the maintenance, rehabilitation, and development of roads.

The National Assembly Decentralized Funds Accounts Committee has lauded the Mbooni Constituency NG-CDF Account Manager for efficiently addressing audit queries, and keeping clean records for the last ten Financial Years.

Chaired By Kitui Central MP Hon. (Dr.) Gideo Mulyungi, the Committee met with Mr. Paul Kimilu who has managed the Mbooni office since 2013 to date to examine Reports of the Office of the Auditor General for FY 2013/2014 to 2022/2023.

The National Assembly was on Thursday moved to adjourn its regular business to discuss the alarming surge in cases of femicide and gender-based violence across the country.

Invoking Standing Order 33(1),  Samburu West MP, Hon. Naisua Lesuuda sought leave of the House to adjourn its business to deliberate on an urgent national crisis that has left women and children increasingly vulnerable to violence, abuse, and in extreme cases, death.

This follows the consideration and adoption of the Joint Report of the Departmental Committee on Energy and Select Committee on Public Debt and Privatization on the consideration of the Sessional Paper No. 2 of 2025 on the Proposed Privatization of Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Limited.

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Gladys Boss, has announced the publication and circulation of the 7th Edition of the National Assembly Standing Orders.

She explained that the new edition consolidates the 6th Edition, adopted in June 2022, and the subsequent Addendum approved in March 2023, which introduced provisions allowing Cabinet Secretaries to appear before the House to respond to questions and present reports in line with Article 153 of the Constitution.
