From medieval traditions to 21st-century security, the role of the Serjeant-at-Arms has evolved into a sophisticated pillar of our legislative process. This year, officers from the Senate, National Assembly, and County Assemblies across the country are gathering to evolve even further.

This yearβs conference Theme is: "Future-Proofing Legislative Support Functions in Times of Change.β In an era of rapid technological shifts and complex security demands, we are focusing on resilience, institutional integrity, and the integration of AI in legislative safety.

The conference officially kicks off tomorrow, Friday, March 27th, with a high-profile opening ceremony:

β’ Keynote Address: Hon. Onesmus Murkomen, Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration.
β’ Opening Remarks: Mr. Jeremiah Nyegenye (Clerk of the Senate) and Mr. Samuel Njoroge (Clerk of the National Assembly).
β’ Special Guest: Former Senate Speaker, Hon. Ekwee Ethuro, discussing the Constitutional Mandate of the office.

Over the next two days, we will dive deep into: Cybersecurity and AI Resilience with Dr. Bright Mawudor; Professionalization and Training with the Centre for Parliamentary Studies (CPST); The formalization of the Society of Serjeant-at-Arms Kenya (SOSK); and, Psychological resilience and national security strategy.
