The Constitution of Kenya 2010 contains all the provisions necessary to guarantee the full and proper implementation of devolution, Senator Catherine Mumma has affirmed.

Speaking during a panel discussion at the ongoing Devolution Conference in Homa Bay County, Sen. Mumma said the legal framework for devolution is already firmly in place. What remains, she noted, is the will and collaboration among all stakeholders to make it work for the benefit of every Kenyan.

Senate Speaker Amason Jeffah Kingi, EGH, MP, has called on national and county leaders to renew their commitment to devolution, describing it as Kenya’s most transformative governance shift since independence and a guarantor of equity, inclusion and social justice.

The Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations has pressed the Ministry of Defence for firm action and clear answers on the February 2025 Todonyang massacre in Turkana County, in which armed assailants from Ethiopia are alleged to have killed more than 40 civilians.
