Former employees of the former Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC), who have spent nearly three decades fighting for unpaid benefits, were handed a rare glimmer of hope on Tuesday after Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSMEs Development, Wycliffe Oparanya, committed to a firm timeline to resolve their claims.

The Senate resumes its sittings this Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, stepping back into the limelight with a packed agenda that promises to shape the future of devolution and parliamentary democracy in Kenya. During the recess, the House reconvened for a special week-long sitting to debate the Motion on the proposed removal from office, by impeachment, of Kericho County Governor, Dr. Erick Mutai.

 

𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒

The National Assembly is set to resume sittings tomorrow, Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, marking the beginning of the third and final part of the Fourth Session after a month-long working recess.

During the recess, Members engaged in a range of Parliamentary activities in preparation for the conclusion of a busy and productive Fourth session. 

Among the highlights was the Leadership Retreat held in Nakuru County, which focused on renewing unity and collaboration in leadership to ensure the National Assembly fulfils its mandate responsibly.
