The National Rating Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 55 of 2022) has been signed into law by the President William Ruto.

The Joint Planning Committee for the 14th Edition of the East African Inter-Parliamentary Games held a meeting ahead of the kick-off of the games.

During the meeting, the Co-Chairperson Bunge Sports Club, Hon. Vincent Kawaya (Mwala) assured representatives of all the member states present that Kenya is ready to host the games that begin on Saturday, December 7, 2024.  

Giving a brief on the preparatory stages of the Games and pre-tournament conference, Hon. Kawaya said Kenya has addressed all the critical areas of attention to the hosting of the Games.

The Senate Standing Committee on Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) has instructed Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya to appear before it next week to explain the alledged loss of public funds. 

 

This comes after it emerged that the county lost Ksh1.3 million through collection of revenue using an illegal paybill number 770478 while the Committee was conducting an inquiry into the status of IFMIS and other county revenue management system in the county.
