The Chairperson of the Kenya-Turkey Parliamentary Friendship Group, Hon. Dr. Adan Keynan has received a delegation of his counterparts from Turkey who are in the country on an official visit to the National Assembly.

The Turkish delegation, led by Hon. Ismail Gunes Usak, MP, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Keynan in his office at Parliament Buildings. They briefed him on the purpose of their visit to the August House and their engagements in Kenya.

Hon. Keynan reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and advancing bilateral relations between the Republic of Kenya and the Republic of Turkey. He was accompanied by other Members of the Friendship Group Hon. Adan Haji and Hon. Omar Mwinyi. 

Also present was the Turkish Ambassador to Kenya, Amb. Subutay Yüksel.

This week the delegation is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Dr. Moses Masika Wetang'ula, and later meet with the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations, Hon. Nelson Koech.
