The Kenya Roads (Amendment) (No.2) Bill, 2025 (National Assembly Bill No. 16 of 2025) has been signed into law.

The principal object of the Bill now Act is to amend section 13(3) of the Kenya Roads Act, Cap. 408, to align the term of offices of Director-Generals of various roads authorities with the Mwongozo Code of Governance for State Corporations.

The National Assembly has received communication from the Senate on the passage of seven (7) Bills by the Senate.

While addressing Members of the National Assembly, Speaker Rt. Hon. Moses Wetang’ula stated, “Honourable Members, pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 41(4), I wish to report to the House that I have received seven (7) Messages from the Senate regarding its consideration of four (4) Senate Bills and three (3) National Assembly Bills.”

The National Assembly Committee on Energy and the Committee on Public Debt and Privatization have been tasked with the joint consideration of a Sessional Paper proposing the privatization of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited (KPC).

This follows the submission of the Sessional Paper to the National Assembly by the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, detailing plans to offload government shares in KPC through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.
