The National Assembly’s Budget and Appropriations Committee chaired by the Hon. Kanini Kega (Kieni), in a joint sitting with the House’s Liaison Committee(Chairpersons Committee); chaired by Deputy Speaker, the Hon. Moses Cheboi (Kuresoi North), have this weekend convened a pre-budget review conference with various government agencies in Mombasa County. The two-day forum is scheduled to deliberate on the status of implementation of the budget for the Financial Year 2020/2021, as well as review the 2021/2022 budget proposals.

Honourable Members, it is with deep sorrow that I wish to notify the House of the untimely passing on of the Member for Bonchari Constituency, the Hon. John Oroo Oyioka, MP, who passed on yesterday, Monday 15^th February 2021 while undergoing treatment at Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu.

Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 29 (1), the National Assembly is set to hold Special morning and afternoon Sittings, commencing at 10.00am and at 2.30pm respectively on December 22, 2020.

This follows a request by the Leader of the Majority Party to the Speaker to hold Special Sittings of the House, which the Speaker of the  National Assembly, Hon. Justin Muturi acceded to.

On Friday, 20^th November, 2020, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Moses Cheboi, CBS, MP led a delegation from  National Assembly in a Virtual Conference between the National Assembly of Kenya and the National People’s Congress (NPC ) of the People’s Republic of China. The delegation from China was led by H.E. Mr. Cao Jianming, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of NPC .
